Welcome to the about me page, Right from an early age I have always had a love of drawing, and my school projects were littered with sketchs of animals and birds, dinosaurs and people, with the odd dragon or unicorn thrown in for good measure. My first serious passion was Wildlife, especially the big cats and this was fuelled by two trips to Kenya's Masai Mara, where I was able to view the lord of the jungle up close and personal. On the second trip I was lucky enough to come across brothers who were about to take an afternoon siesta. These were blonde and quite young probably in their prime, and one had a bit of a limp in his back leg. As they settled down the non limping one leant across and started to give his brother a wash as in way of comfort. I snapped away with my camera and from that photo arrived this picture, aptly named Brotherly Love.
 At this point I made the decision to spend more time on my art, and in this turn led to Pet Portraiture, where I have had the pleasure of creating drawings of some super and much loved pets. Each Summer I visit the dog shows, and get to meet great people and their pooches, always a great fun day out, and I even get to do some judging ! Each picture is different but each one is special too, and I try to capture that bit of unique identity that makes your pet yours and this may come in the form of odd markings, or a tuft of hair that stands out amongst the rest, and unusual colourings. I aim to achieve a photo realistic drawing, and each picture comes mounted, ready to be framed. |
